THEME: "American Agriculture: Abundant, Affordable. AMAZING."
WHO: Whatcom County Students
Grades 7-9 - maximum 300 words - 1st prize $100, Runner-up $25
Grades 10-12 - maximum 450 words - 1st prize $100, Runner-up $25
Adult - maximum 500 words - 1st prize $100, Runner-up $25

Whatcom County Farm Bureau, Whatcom Farm Friends and the Lynden Tribune are calling on 7th to 12th grade Whatcom County students and Adults to submit an original essay about the importance of agriculture. This year's theme is "American Agriculture: Abundant, Affordable. AMAZING." the deadline for submission is 10:00 a.m., Tuesday March 2, 2010. The goal of this contest is to provide a spotlight on agriculture and the food and fiber industry to help consumers understand not only how food and fiber products are produced, but to celebrate accomplishments in providing safe, abundant and affordable products. This contest is a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about the vision our community students and adults have for the role of agriculture in their lives and in our country's future.
