Information Technology Tools for Farmers

This invitation and meeting reminder is going out to our Farm Flash e-News mailing list. We hope you'll join us this Friday, 2/26, for our Annual Membership Meeting for Whatcom Farm Friends.

Presentations on how Information Technology tools you can use in 2010 will keep you in business into the future.
  • Banking & Finance
    • As financing becomes more competitive, what is it that lenders are looking for in your business plan and financing proposal? How can your technology tools give you the edge you need?
      Presentations by:  Doug Dostal, Peoples Bank and Marv Tjoelker, Larson, Gross CPA
  • Mobile Communications
    • Mobile phones have become an essential tool for efficient management.  How can you take your handheld device to the next level? How can farmers working "in the field" get smarter about using your "smart phone"?
      Presentation by Bill Knudson, Communication 2000
  • IT Infrastructure
    • Setting up your home office can be a challenge when the whole family wants access to the computer(s). We'll take a look at some options for hardware and network design that will keep you up and running and interact with your mobile device.

Many have asked the question: What are non-farmers doing on the Farm Friends board? Brad Smith, WWU and State Fish and Wildlife Commission will give a short talk about why he serves on the board and the crucial relationship between farmers and the non-farm community.

2009 brought some ideological issues to the forefront for Farm Friends and our members. We've listened carefully to your feedback and we'd like to share our response and our plans for 2010.  

A panel of WFF members will reflect on our challenges and goals and why it is crucial to have you fully engaged in addressing them.
