Photo Gallery for February 2010

These photos were taken on 2/18/2010. Groundbreaking on the digester facility is still several months away, but the floors (pipes for the hot water are nestled in sand) in the new greenhouse have been prepared for the project. The boiler and back up heating system are in place. Back to the gallery landing page.

Future site of Farm Power Digester

This open field on the north end of the property is the future site of the digester facility.
The greenhouse is on the left.

Heated sand floors

Inside the new greenhouse. Kevin Maas of Farm Power looks out over the
specialized flooring that has been prepared for the radiant heating the
digester coolant water will provide.

Heated sand floors exposed

Lifting up the tarp flooring reveals the sand basins.
Pipes running through the sand will carry hot water from the digester
and provide heat from below for bedding plants that will sit on top.
